Ribs and R&B Music Festival | Fri-Sun 10am-11pm | Hart Plaza, Detroit

If you like ribs and R&B, this would be a perfect place for you to spend your weekend! Oakland County leader, Walt, will also be here early in the day Friday-Sunday. For more information, check out Ribs and R&B Jazz Fest and their Facebook event page.

2015 Detroit Caribbean Cultural Festival | Fri-Sun | New Center, Detroit

Want to indulge in Caribbean culture while collecting signatures? This event is for you! For more information, check out the festival schedule and the Facebook event page.

Shelby Township Art Fair | Sat-Sun | Shelby Twp.

Don’t feel like driving down to Detroit? Here is an event that may be closer to home for some. The Shelby Twp. Art Fair will be going on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Check out the Art Fair Guide and Facebook event page for more information.

Event this Weekend: World PARTIE Day

This Saturday, August 8, MILegalize will have a table at World P.A.R.T.I.E. Day across from the Stonehouse Bar and Grill in Detroit. People will be partying all day from noon-midnight (if not longer). This is especially awesome because it is Marvin Marvin’s birthday! This event should be a lot of fun!

Event this Weekend: Charivari Detroit

Hello everyone!

MILegalize will be at Charivari Detroit on Belle Isle this weekend! That being said, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! (Please…!)

MILegalize will have a booth at Chiavari Detroit from noon – 10pm on both Saturday and Sunday.We need volunteers to help setup Saturday morning and would like to have 3+ people at the table to petition, answer questions, etc. Besides petitioning, this event should be a lot of fun! We also need a tent and a table to set up. If you have one that we can borrow, LET US KNOW!

This is a HUGE event, and we are hoping for an easy 1,000+ signatures. Please send an email to milegalizeoakland@gmail.com or chuckvee@yahoo.com if you are interested. Chuck will be coordinating the event, so any specific questions can be directed to him.

Week in Review…

Happy Wednesday to everyone!

On behalf of everyone at MILegalize, we would like to thank EVERYONE who donated throughout the month of July to help us reach our $100,00 goal. Read more about our fundraising success here.

We are also working to raise another $50,000 since we received yet another generous matching donation that was announced at our Countdown at Como’s event last Sunday. If you are interested in helping us reach this goal as well, please feel free to visit our MILegalize Donations Page.

Countdown at Como’s This Sunday!!!!!

Happy Tuesday!

Only 5 more days until our Countdown at Como’s event at Como’s in Ferndale! This is a very important event because we will receive A LOT of funds from a donor if and only if these funds are matched at this event.

All donations MUST be paid via Check or Money Order made out to MI Legalize. We unfortunately cannot accept cash or credit card donations. Donations can be made the day of the event. If you have questions, you can contact Debra Young at cobra136@live.com.

Come show your support at this MI Legalize fundraiser at the end of this month at Como’s in Ferndale. There are varying support levels.

MILegalize Como’s Fundraiser Options:

Silver Supporter- $50 per person, $75 couple
Gold Supporter- $200 per person, $350 couple
Platinum Supporter- $1000 per person, $1400 couple
Green Supporter- $2000 per person (up to 6 guests)

Interested in Volunteering?

If you are interested in joining the Oakland MI Legalize volunteer team, we would love to have you join us! There are just a few things you need to do before we can give you petitions and a clipboard.

1) You MUST become an official MI Legalize volunteer. You can do so at the official MI Legalize website, or you can register in person at one of our training sessions.

2) ALL volunteers MUST attend a Mandatory Training Session! 

There are a few rules when it comes to collecting signatures. That’s why we want to train you!
